Adapta’s third project will be held in November 2009, with a show in Tokyo called 'Close Encounters'. The title reflects the fact that the Japanese general public would not normally have the chance to view British art in person. It is the aim of AdaptaGallery to provide these opportunities to the Asian public in order that they canexperience the phenomenon of 21st Century Contemporary Art, instead of just seeing it online. Our artists’ works are so visually striking that you can’t help but feeldrawn to them. Like seeing an extra-terrestrial phenomenon, the viewers of ourshow will be awestruck at the quality, range and depth of their work and will inevitably be left with the questions of ‘Where do they come from?’ & ‘How did theydo it?’ Adapta has curated an exhibition of 12 artists, including Best Ever, Cyclops, D*Face, David Bray, Matt Small, Sickboy, Word To Mother, Vesna Parchet + special guests Jeff Soto, Usugrow, Shohei Takasaki and Yoshiki Nagayama. Although the variety of work can be considered eclectic, it is precisely this reason why we chose them in the first place. From the famous street-artist D*Face's two-dimensional graphic art to the rich textures of emerging artist Vesna Parchet's styledcharacter-based paintings, a plethora of mediums, emotions and messages are employed for the viewer to digest.
